The facility holds pretrial detainees who could not make bail, people awaiting sentencing, and sentenced offenders serving terms under two years. Montgomery County also operates programs within the facility, including work release for certain qualifying inmates. Work release participants leave the facility during the day and return each evening, so they may appear in released inmate records even while still under sentence.

Released Inmate Search in Montgomery County

Right-to-Know Requests in Montgomery County

Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101-67.3104, applies to all Montgomery County agencies, including the correctional facility. Montgomery County requires use of the standard RTK request form. Anonymous requests are not accepted. You must identify yourself when submitting. Fee payment is required before records are released. Copy fees follow the statewide rate of $0.25 per page. The agency has five business days to respond to your request.

Criminal investigative records may be exempt from disclosure under the RTKL. Appeals of those denials go to the District Attorney's office, not the state OOR. Note: The Clean Slate Act (Act 56 of 2018) and expungement under 18 Pa.C.S. § 9122 can remove certain Montgomery County criminal records from public view after qualifying waiting periods.

Once registered, alerts go out automatically whenever the offender's status changes. You do not have to check the facility roster yourself.

PA SAVIN covers both county and state custody. If an offender transfers from Montgomery County to a state prison, your registration follows the record to the new location. This is important for victims in cases where the offender receives a state sentence after being held in Montgomery County pretrial.
